The oak is one of the best loved trees and represents strength, resilience and knowledge.
The oldest oak tree in the world is 2 000 years old! I have not seen that ancient tree, but I have been lucky enough to see the major oak in Nottingham said to be between 800 – 1000 years old. I have also visited the the Allerton oak in Liverpool believed to be around 1000 years old. Wow! Imagine what these oaks have witnessed in their lives.
Paying homage to these gorgeous trees, I have used the ancient and traditional lost wax casting method, to cast these really large acorns in sterling silver.
As with all my other castings from nature, every organic detail and texture on the acorn has been perfectly captured in the casting, leaving a detailed and true-to-life piece of jewellery. Any rough edges have been filed smooth, so it is comfortable to wear.
This acorn has a polished finish and is also available in oxidised sterling silver.
Our oak collection includes unisex twig cuff bangles, twig bangles, twig rings, twig and acorn cup cufflinks, twig pendants and earrings - all in a variety of shapes and finishes.
This pendant is large, heavy and completely solid. It is normally supplied with an 24 inch belcher chain, but if you would prefer it a bit longer, please let me know.
